Larkdight Studios Colorado Buffaloes' Program Rebuild (Season 1) June 20, 2025 5:00PM CST

With the Colorado Buffaloes having locked up a spot in the B12 Championship game against the UCF Knights, following a dominant 11-1 season (8-1 B12), let’s check in to see where they stand before they make a push for landing a bye in the First Round of the College Football Playoffs.
OVERVIEW
The Buffaloes’ program was blessed when HC Deion Sanders decided to take the position and bring along his son Shedeur and the unicorn Travis Hunter. It is ridiculous the impact these two have had in such a short amount of time, and we really should appreciate it while we got it. Any game, from here on out, could be the last time we see these two in Colorado Buffaloes’ uniforms. These two will be top five picks in the upcoming NFL draft, so let’s hope they can keep playing a few more games in college and maybe even finish with a National Championship to cement their legacy forever.
It's nice to see that Travis Hunter is finally getting some Heisman buzz, despite being near the bottom of the finalist list. It seems that, unless he finishes with 300 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns in the B12 Championship game, he just is not going to be able to win over the Heisman voters. Many argue that the Buffaloes haven’t played anyone. That argument is ridiculous when they’ve taken down four ranked opponents, who were all in-conference rivals, and has put up insane numbers. Hunter has over 1500 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns, while ALSO playing defense (nearly every single snap he is on the field). Nonetheless, it’s all just fuel to the fire and should really motivate him and Shedeur to unload on the competition this week.
In regard to recruiting, the Buffaloes are landing perfect fits for what HC Deion Sanders believes is the identity of Colorado Buffalo football. He has found two highly talented, high ceiling quarterback prospects who will battle and develop to continue keeping this program at the top. There is also a very exciting offensive and defensive cousins pairing in WR Adrian Jurevicius and his cousin DT Jamie Jurevicius, who will make for stars with their big personalities. HC Sanders is also really excited about getting one of his favorite Florida high school players in CB Jabari Aromashadu to commit and bolster the cornerback room with his high energy. The Buffaloes will most likely be one of the teams active in the Transfer Portal when the season ends to help replace the senior leadership they will be losing in guys like QB Shedeur Sanders, WR Travis Hunter, WR LaJohntay Wester, WR Jimmy Horn Jr, WR Will Sheppard, DT Chidozie Nwankwo, ED Dayon Hayes, LB Nikhai Hill-Green, LB LaVonta Bentley, S Shilo Sanders, and S Cam’ron Silman-Craig. HC Deion Sanders can sell anything to anyone, and he isn’t looking for this program to have a drop-off season next year or any year while he is in the building.
