With the Florida Gators entering their second bye week of the season, after rattling off three more impressive wins to advance to a perfect 7-0, it is a good time to examine how the program is doing as it is skyrocketing in popularity right now.

OVERVIEW

We may truly be witnessing the resurgence of the once revered Florida Gators’ program. This season, up to this point, has been nothing short of spectacular. Who would have pegged a brand-new Head Coach, with almost no experience, leading a talented, but young Gators’ team through the daunting SEC with wins over Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky, while also getting a huge win against in-state rival Miami? It won’t get any easier for them as they still have five more games left on the schedule against Georgia, Arkansas, LSU, Auburn, and Florida State. But confidence in the building and across the nation is at an all-time high for this Gators’ program to run the table and make the College Football Playoffs.

In regard to recruiting, HC Meyer has locked up verbal commitments from three five-star recruits (all in the top 11) and another talented four-star out of Florida, but he surely isn’t done there. The Gators are being highly considered by a lot of the top recruits in the country and may be on track for one of the best recruiting classes this program has seen in some time. Florida is such a desirable place to play, as well as a pipeline to the NFL, and it helps when you’re winning on the national stage over powerhouse programs like Alabama, Miami, and Tennessee. I fully expect the Gators to land some huge verbal commitments by season end.
