Larkdight Studios Kansas Jayhawks' Program Rebuild (Season 1) August 1, 2025 3:00PM CST

The Kansas Jayhawks will kick off Season 1 of the rebuild against the Fresno State Bulldogs, on August 4th. It’s going to be crazy seeing HC Bill Self leading the football team in the home opener, but we’re just going to have to go with it and see what happens. We’ll learn a lot about his impact in Week 2, when the Jayhawks go on the road to face the Oklahoma Sooners.

The Big 12 may be the most wide-open conference in all of college football because it could be Kansas, Iowa State, Colorado, West Virginia, Kansas State, Arizona, Arizona State, or really anyone that can win this conference. You just hope for the conference’s sake that they don’t all bring each other down but instead the competition makes everyone better, so that can come playoffs time the conference is represented well.

Dates and times for all games are below:

  • Week 1 – Mon, Aug 4 3:00PM CST – vs Fresno State (Season/Home Opener)

  • Week 2 – Tue, Aug 5 3:00PM CST – @ Oklahoma

  • Week 3 – Wed, Aug 6 3:00PM CST – @ Missouri

  • Week 4 – Bye Week

  • Week 5 – Fri, Aug 8 7:00PM CST – vs West Virginia

  • Week 6 – Mon, Aug 11 3:00PM CST – vs Cincinnati

  • Week 7 – Tue, Aug 12 7:00PM CST – @ UCF

  • Week 8 – Bye Week

  • Week 9 – Thu, Aug 14 7:00PM CST – @ Texas Tech

  • Week 10 – Fri, Aug 15 7:00PM CST – vs Kansas State (Homecoming)

  • Week 11 – Mon, Aug 18 7:00PM CST – vs Oklahoma State

  • Week 12 – Tue, Aug 19 7:00PM CST – @ Arizona

  • Week 13 – Wed, Aug 20 7:00PM CST – @ Iowa State

  • Week 14 – Thu, Aug 21 7:00PM CST – vs Utah (Senior Night)

The Kansas Jayhawks were expected to have a good season, but after the hiring of Bill Self there isn’t a lot of belief in this team and they’re expected to go 3-9 this season, which would be a really bad place to start the rebuild. But maybe this move shocks the world and we start seeing other coaches around the country start taking on dual roles inside of their respective colleges, such as John Calipari at Arkansas or Kelvin Sampson at Houston.
