ree

As the Miami Heat approach the trade deadline, with a much better than expected 32-17 record, now is a perfect time to check-in and see how they stack up against the rest of the league. We may even see some trades taking place since the Heat could look like they could make some noise in the playoffs behind their budding rookie sensation F Cooper Flagg.

OVERVIEW

It was fully expected that the Miami Heat would be entering into a rebuild with the new General Manager traded away F Bam Adebayo, F Duncan Robinson, C Kel’El Ware, and others in order to move into the future. Taking on F Paul George’s contract wasn’t favorable, and he certainly isn’t living up to the money, but he is providing good leadership, and it allowed the Heat to be in position to draft F Cooper Flagg. And what a move that was because he instantly is the face of this team. He and fellow rookie G Walter Clayton Jr are definitely the future of the Miami Heat, but now we will have to see who else will be in the long-term plans. With the way that G Tyler Herro has been leading this team there’s a good chance that he stays, but the same can’t be said for the struggling F Grant Williams and C Naz Reid. Look for the Heat to be active at the trade deadline if they want to compete now.
