Missouri State announces opponents for the 2025 season

Larkdight Studios Missouri State Bears' Program Rebuild (Season 1) August 1, 2025 3:00PM CST

The Missouri State Bears will kick off Season 1 of the rebuild with a rivalry game against the Missouri Tigers, on August 4th. New HC Mitchell Francolia will learn a lot about the roster come Week 1. The Bears’ then have their home opener the following week against Marshall, before going back on the road in Week 3 to face SMU.

The middle of the Bears’ schedule is where we could really see this team rise up and get some wins against Kent State, Middle Tennessee, New Mexico State, and FIU. If they’re going to finish the season with more wins than losses, and have any hope for a bowl game, then it’s going to be because they handled their business against these teams.

• Week 2 – Tue, Aug 5 7:00PM CST – vs Marshall (Home Opener)

• Week 3 – Wed, Aug 6 7:00PM CST – @ SMU

• Week 4 – Bye Week

• Week 5 – Fri, Aug 8 7:00PM CST – vs Western Kentucky

• Week 6 – Mon, Aug 11 3:00PM CST – vs Kent State

• Week 7 – Tue, Aug 12 7:00PM CST – @ Middle Tennessee

• Week 8 – Bye Week

• Week 9 – Thu, Aug 14 7:00PM CST – @ New Mexico State

• Week 10 – Fri, Aug 15 7:00PM CST – vs FIU (Homecoming)

• Week 11 – Mon, Aug 18 7:00PM CST – @ Liberty

• Week 12 – Tue, Aug 19 3:00PM CST – vs UTEP

• Week 13 – Wed, Aug 20 11:00AM CST – @ Kennesaw State

• Week 14 – Thu, Aug 21 3:00PM CST – vs Louisiana Tech (Senior Night)

The Missouri State Bears are expected to go 5-7 in their first season, which would be an improvement but also not what HC Francolia is looking for because they wouldn’t make a bowl game. But rebuilding takes time, so let’s just see what the Bears look like in the first season before any real recruiting has taken place.
