Larkdight Studios Washington Huskies' Program Rebuild (Season 1) June 9, 2025 5:00PM CST

ree

With the Washington Huskies entering into their first bye week of the season, following an impressive 5-0 start to the season, now is as good of a time as any to check in with the program.

OVERVIEW

Despite losing many key parts of the National Championship team (albeit a loss), this program hasn’t seemed to drop off. The leadership that HC Ja’Varr Jackson Jr has brought in from the NFL is making up for the departure of HC Kalen DeBoer. This team is led by a lot of solid seniors, as well as talented underclassmen. A real bright spot has been the play of RB Jonah Coleman. Many have him in an early group of Heisman hopefuls. We will see, as Washington definitely has a schedule ahead of them that can put him in that conversation if they continue to win.

When it comes to recruiting, HC Jackson Jr hasn’t been able to lock anyone up quite yet but there are a handful of prospects coming to visit next week for the Huskies’ Homecoming game against the undefeated Cal Bears (4-0) to see what the future of Washington football looks like. He is confident that once they get inside the campus, get around the team and the facilities, and watch a game in Husky Stadium there’s no other options than committing.
