Welcome to the first season of the Florida Gators’ Program Rebuild, inside of College Football ’25! If you have been following along to me, you will know that I do both Madden Rebuilds and College Football Rebuilds. At this point, I have now done three College Football Rebuilds – Coastal Carolina, UAB, and San Jose State – so I feel like I have a pretty good grip on how to navigate through a college football program rebuild.

Just like in those rebuilds, there is a new Head Coach taking over the program and his name is Nathan Meyer. Oh, man, is the Athletic Director going out on a limb here with the recent hire. Nathan is the son of the legendary college football coach Urban Meyer. He may have his dad’s DNA, but he sure as shit doesn’t have the pedigree or resume that his dad does. Nathan Meyer has never coached a day of college football in his life. So many, and I mean many, people have put the Florida Gators' program on blast since he was hired. Let’s see if the kid has it. If not, we will find out quickly because the SEC will eat him right up.

Like all my rebuilds, I like to set three-year goals that the program needs to reach in order for the rebuild to be deemed a success. Here are those goals:

• Have at least 2 winning seasons (0/2)

• Recruit a Top 10 Class (0/1)

• Have 5 players drafted (0/5)

• Win the Heisman Award (0/1)

• Win the Coach of the Year Award (0/1)

• Win a National Championship (0/1)

• Land at least 5 5* Recruits (0/5)

• Reach #1 in the AP Polls (0/1)
