Welcome to the first season of the Washington Huskies’ Program Rebuild, inside of College Football ’25! If you have been following along to me, you will know that I do both Madden Rebuilds and College Football Rebuilds. At this point, I have now done three College Football Rebuilds – Coastal Carolina, UAB, and San Jose State – so I feel like I have a good grip on how to navigate through a College Football Program Rebuild.

Just like all of my rebuilds, there is a new head coach taking over the program and his name is Ja’Varr Jackson Jr. He comes to Washington with 11 years of NFL experience, recently helping the Cincinnati Bengals finish with the #1 passing attack in the NFL as their WR Coach. Washington is only a year removed from a National Championship berth, but after losing a ton of players to the NFL Draft (QB Michael Penix Jr, WR Rome Odunze, T Troy Fautanu, G Roger Rosengarten, ED Bralen Trice, WR Ja’Lynn Polk, and WR Jalen McMillan) and their Head Coach to Alabama (Kalen DeBoer), the Athletic Department was worried of major drop off so they wanted to find someone with potential to keep Washington in the hunt in the Big 10. Washington is home to one of the best universities and one of the most beautiful campuses in all of college football, which is exactly why HC Jackson Jr was willing to leave his NFL job to lead the Huskies’ program.

Like all my rebuilds, I like to set three-year goals that the program needs to reach in order for the rebuild to be deemed a success. Here are those goals:

• Have at least 2 winning seasons (0/2)

• Recruit a Top 10 Class (0/1)

• Have 5 players drafted (0/5)

• Win the Heisman Award (0/1)

• Win the Coach of the Year Award (0/1)

• Win a National Championship (0/1)

• Land at least 5 5* Recruits (0/5)

• Reach #1 in the AP Polls (0/1)
